Enforce your right as a parent to protect your family

In today’s world, when it comes to protecting the well-being of our children, many parents just like you are faced with an onslaught of media competing for the attention of their young minds. This is not just sexual content, violence and language, we’re talking about. Your kids are being fed innuendos, subliminal messages, indoctrination and social conditioning like never before in history. Filtering services like VidAngel allow you to pre-edit (skip over parts you choose) movies and TV shows giving you peace of mind about what your children are exposed to.

Right now there is another battle waging behind the scenes, and its outcome will directly affect your rights as a parent. Four Hollywood studios (Disney—along with Warner Bros, 20th Century Fox, and Lucasfilm) have entered in legal battles with VidAngel, in a case that is sure to set a precedent for the future of the filtering industry. This is not the first time Hollywood has strongly opposed filtering services. After all, they were against the Family Movie Act (FMA), a law designed to empower parents and enable filtering services. The #SaveFiltering petition exists to enforce your right to choose how your family consumes content in the privacy of your own home before Hollywood takes it away.

As a father, I want to enjoy entertainment with my family without surrendering our soul by exposing them to many messages that are incompatible with who we are and what we believe. As Americans, we should have the choice to filter that with which we do not agree with. And for this, we are willing to pay.

Vidangel was the only way we watched movies in our home. By it being shutdown you are telling me I have to either allow foul language and actions into my home or not watch any movies. This service is legal and should be protected. By the way we choose not to watch them at all not just put up with it. Disney has lost all of our support.

My family and I no longer buy/watch any movies without the ability to filter them since we’ve already purchased any movies that we can find that didn’t need filtering for our particular requirements.

Thus, because filtering new movies myself using various tools/software is cost and time prohibitive, we need VidAngel and similar services that give a large variety of granular filters for content/categories.

It is foolish to assume that the current MPAA rating system is adequate for all families, individual case-by-case filtering is a must to expand the movie market, and thus movie industry profits, into homes such as mine that all together avoid movies containing words, actions, and images that we don’t agree with or accept in our home but are acceptable to the MPAA for G, PG, and PG13.
