Enforce your right as a parent to protect your family

In today’s world, when it comes to protecting the well-being of our children, many parents just like you are faced with an onslaught of media competing for the attention of their young minds. This is not just sexual content, violence and language, we’re talking about. Your kids are being fed innuendos, subliminal messages, indoctrination and social conditioning like never before in history. Filtering services like VidAngel allow you to pre-edit (skip over parts you choose) movies and TV shows giving you peace of mind about what your children are exposed to.

Right now there is another battle waging behind the scenes, and its outcome will directly affect your rights as a parent. Four Hollywood studios (Disney—along with Warner Bros, 20th Century Fox, and Lucasfilm) have entered in legal battles with VidAngel, in a case that is sure to set a precedent for the future of the filtering industry. This is not the first time Hollywood has strongly opposed filtering services. After all, they were against the Family Movie Act (FMA), a law designed to empower parents and enable filtering services. The #SaveFiltering petition exists to enforce your right to choose how your family consumes content in the privacy of your own home before Hollywood takes it away.

I love VidAngel! There are so many movies I would not watch if it were not for filtering, basically everything that’s Rated-R! Even many PG-13 movies nowadays I would not watch due to language and sexual content, but thanks to VidAngel I am able to enjoy these otherwise great films! I don’t quite understand why the studios want to shut down VidAngel, they’re only going to lose my money if they do!!!

Let Hollywood know that we don’t need the violence, vulgarity and swearing to enjoy their movies!

This is an incredible service. There are some movies I will only watch if I can filter them. The company who created the movie will lose my money without a filtering service.

Without Vidangels filters I wouldn’t watch as many movies. Vidangel gives me the ability to control the content my family sees and hears. It makes every movie customizable to your moral preferences and provides extremely detailed information on content that is filtered. It changes the game. Instead of me not watching a movie, I can remove the content that I deem unnecessary. Believe it or not you can enjoy Deadpool without all the vulgarity and sexual content. I probably missed some laughs but I still enjoyed a movie I would have NEVER watched without filters. If you love sex scenes, great! Watch the movie with it, but if you hate racial comments, remove it.

Beverlee A. Leung: I sincerely don’t understand why the studios suing are doing so. No one is asking YOU to change your movies. There are just some of us that think graphic violence, offensive language and gratuitous sex aren’t necessary to get the message of a movie.

Not that many years ago, none of these things were even acceptable in movies, yet the sometimes difficult, often complex messages that movie makers wanted to portray were portrayed subtly, artfully. Since ‘Hollywood’ has chosen to go another route (I call it the ‘way too obvious, less artful’ route.), those of us who prefer NOT to pollute our minds with garbage, that once in is difficult to remove, have chosen an alternative, that hurts NO ONE. Leave us this CHOICE. It is what our country is founded upon. We aren’t forcing our viewpoint on you. We ask you to give us the same courtesy.
