Enforce your right as a parent to protect your family

In today’s world, when it comes to protecting the well-being of our children, many parents just like you are faced with an onslaught of media competing for the attention of their young minds. This is not just sexual content, violence and language, we’re talking about. Your kids are being fed innuendos, subliminal messages, indoctrination and social conditioning like never before in history. Filtering services like VidAngel allow you to pre-edit (skip over parts you choose) movies and TV shows giving you peace of mind about what your children are exposed to.

Right now there is another battle waging behind the scenes, and its outcome will directly affect your rights as a parent. Four Hollywood studios (Disney—along with Warner Bros, 20th Century Fox, and Lucasfilm) have entered in legal battles with VidAngel, in a case that is sure to set a precedent for the future of the filtering industry. This is not the first time Hollywood has strongly opposed filtering services. After all, they were against the Family Movie Act (FMA), a law designed to empower parents and enable filtering services. The #SaveFiltering petition exists to enforce your right to choose how your family consumes content in the privacy of your own home before Hollywood takes it away.

VidAngel – best thing since fire!

There are many excellent movies with a gratuitous scene of nudity or some language. We have children ages 7-13, and the last thing we want to watch together is steamy sex. VidAngel has enabled us to watch many movies that we otherwise would have avoided due to such content.

If, as the plaintiffs claim, this lawsuit is really about licensing and not about filtering, please do not shut down this service. We are willing to pay higher fees, on par with NetFlix or Amazon to watch the movies with objectionable content removed.

I am disappointed in my favorite movie studios. Their behavior in suing VidAngel tells me that they don’t care about me, or my family.

If they really want to produce content that I’m willing to pay for then please allow me to watch it in a manner that I feel comfortable with. They’d be getting money the wouldn’t have otherwise gotten.

I would not watch certain movies unless they had been filtered by vidangel.

It’s not about the directors, or what content they have chosen to have in a movie/TV show, this is just the platform. It is about money, and how they can milk every last drop out of the customers.

It is sad, that I am a minority in the fact that I prefer to monitor what enters my home. I wish I had the right to do just that. According to the law, I guess I have that right, however any attempt to make it a reality, the movie industry has squashed. What is the point of making a law giving someone the right to something that is impossible to have? I’ve tried every option I can think of. I even bought a very expensive editing software and would edit my own personal collection of movies, however that was NOT good, as I would have to see/hear everything I was editing out thousands of times. VidAngel is by far the best option available to the public for controlling what they personally allow in their own home. I personally only use VidAngel for movies/tv shows that I would not watch otherwise, usually rated R movies or MA rated tv shows, or movies that have excessive violence or nudity.

What possible difference can it make to you movie makers – (especially Disney!!! REALLY.!!!) If we choose to see movies without all the smut and vulgarity? Don’t take away our freedom to choose what we watch and what we hear!!

Many thanks to VidAngel for providing this filtering service. It provides an enjoyable option to watch many good movies in our home we wouldn’t otherwise watch due to the inclusion of blasphemy, profanity, sexual content and some violence, which I find to be offensive and insensitive to important values I want to engender in my home.
