Enforce your right as a parent to protect your family

In today’s world, when it comes to protecting the well-being of our children, many parents just like you are faced with an onslaught of media competing for the attention of their young minds. This is not just sexual content, violence and language, we’re talking about. Your kids are being fed innuendos, subliminal messages, indoctrination and social conditioning like never before in history. Filtering services like VidAngel allow you to pre-edit (skip over parts you choose) movies and TV shows giving you peace of mind about what your children are exposed to.

Right now there is another battle waging behind the scenes, and its outcome will directly affect your rights as a parent. Four Hollywood studios (Disney—along with Warner Bros, 20th Century Fox, and Lucasfilm) have entered in legal battles with VidAngel, in a case that is sure to set a precedent for the future of the filtering industry. This is not the first time Hollywood has strongly opposed filtering services. After all, they were against the Family Movie Act (FMA), a law designed to empower parents and enable filtering services. The #SaveFiltering petition exists to enforce your right to choose how your family consumes content in the privacy of your own home before Hollywood takes it away.

Please keep VidAngel going! I love filtering my movies/tv shows. Because of it I can watch so much more than I’ve ever been willing to watch!

Absolutely love being able to filter out all of the words and scenes that I don’t want my kids hearing or seeing. This is hands down the best way to watch a movie that you wouldn’t normally watch due to language or unwanted scenes. DO NOT take this away from families that try to control what is being seen in their homes. Thank you for your awesome service, Vid Angel.

    Sincerely,

    Tammy Cooper

Hollywood is taking this too far and if they continue to try to pursue shutting such a good service, we will just have to boycott them entirely!

VidAngel provides an invaluable service to our family. For reasons of conscience, ethics, and morals, there are many movies that we would not feel able to watch without filtering. VidAngel affords us the opportunity to feel connected with current culture, stay informed of trends, receive educational benefits, and enjoy entertainment that would all otherwise be closed to us.

The movie industry is an extremely important pillar of society, especially from a cultural perspective. Movie studios should not be allowed to discriminate against those families that feel obligated to avoid certain negative aspects of film. By seeking to ban services such as VidAngel, the movie studios are essentially telling my family that our religious views, moral obligations, and peace of mind are less important than the dollars they think they are losing. Ironically, though, the studios are gaining demonstrable benefits from VidAngel. They get money from my purchase of the movie, they get name recognition from my exposure to their product, and they get the reassurance that through VidAngel, their discrimination is put in abeyance and the product, message, entertainment value, and cultural commentary that they offer is presented to a wider swathe of the public, thus advancing the cultural discussion in ways that cannot be achieved without VidAngel’s services.

Rather than being a drag on the citizenry or bringing down the movie studios, VidAngel is actually providing an invaluable public service and furthering the financial and ideological goals of the very entities that seek to unfairly drive them from the market. Please do not fall for the faulty logic of the movie studios that would seek to put forth their self-serving arguments couched in lofty sounding ideals. When it really comes down to it, what they are trying to do is discriminate. The practices of these movie studios results in many people having to choose to stay in the cultural dark – missing out on the associated edification and education – or to go against closely held beliefs, morals, and ethics. VidAngel affords the opportunity to benefit all parties: my family can take part in the cultural phenomena of important movies while preserving our integrity and religious values, and the movie studios can still get the all important dollars for which they are so readily willing to discriminate.

WE HAVE TO SAVE VIDANGEL. I strongly disagree with Hollywood’s actions taken during this lawsuit and the monopolistic control they claim to have over my consumption preferences.

Its a filtering service. We’re literally paying the big companies more because we’re watching movies we wouldn’t otherwise watch

We gotta save filtering. This is the only service that allows me to watch movies without swear words. Or, give me an alternative service.
