Enforce your right as a parent to protect your family

In today’s world, when it comes to protecting the well-being of our children, many parents just like you are faced with an onslaught of media competing for the attention of their young minds. This is not just sexual content, violence and language, we’re talking about. Your kids are being fed innuendos, subliminal messages, indoctrination and social conditioning like never before in history. Filtering services like VidAngel allow you to pre-edit (skip over parts you choose) movies and TV shows giving you peace of mind about what your children are exposed to.

Right now there is another battle waging behind the scenes, and its outcome will directly affect your rights as a parent. Four Hollywood studios (Disney—along with Warner Bros, 20th Century Fox, and Lucasfilm) have entered in legal battles with VidAngel, in a case that is sure to set a precedent for the future of the filtering industry. This is not the first time Hollywood has strongly opposed filtering services. After all, they were against the Family Movie Act (FMA), a law designed to empower parents and enable filtering services. The #SaveFiltering petition exists to enforce your right to choose how your family consumes content in the privacy of your own home before Hollywood takes it away.

I get artists don’t want their vision altered, but being able to filter inappropriate language or a nude scene when unnecessary allows more people with certain moral standards to view the movie when they would otherwise skip it.

I’m surprised how many kids movies have characters use the Lord’s name in vain. As a Christian, t’s nice to be able to filter that.

I love Vidangel because now my family can view entertainment without all the extra filth and cuss words. I have five children and will not allow that filth in their impressionable minds. Editing something you own is NOT taking away from artistic integrity!

In an age when Cable TV openly mocks good morality and is insensitive to young people’s eyes when they flash previews for horror films each October and violent, profane, and sexually suggestive previews between each mickey mouse on-demand episode – it comes as a gasp for fresh air to have VidAngel give back total control over what my children watch on my entertainment center.

My 4 year old had nightmares for 6 months after watching a horror film preview that flashed on between his kid’s show. It was a terrifying scene showing a possessed doll walking toward the viewer from a floor camera shot. Why should I not be able to edit a film that I have purchased so that I can protect my family and my children?

VidAngel and other filtering help must stay in service: They provide a tool for me to control what my children watch.

If I’m unable to skip parts of a movie that I have purchased then would the same logic apply to the ability to fast forward or rewind? Please, please allow for me to control what my family watches in my home on my entertainment center on my purchased video.

Please help me in my effort to be a good steward and responsible parent.

It makes me so upset that Hollywood doesn’t seem to understand that there are people out there who simply don’t want to hear the filthy language that seems to permeate so much of film today. There are many movies that my husband and I would like to watch but we don’t want to be subjected to the “f” word constantly or to hear all of the other bad language. Maybe it’s hard for “the movie industry” to believe but there are lots of people who don’t speak like that or hang out with people who do. I would like to continue to be able to filter this language out of the films we watch. VidAngel also makes it possible for us to watch many more movies with our grandchildren without having to constantly worry about a scene showing up that we might need to fast forward. Please don’t take this wonderful tool away from us. We are still watching and renting the movies – just changing them slightly. I can’t see any possible harm to the movie industry from this.

I have been a Vidangel customer for a few months and appreciate what your company is doing. I am able to watch movies with my children that I believe they should see, like 13 Hours, but wouldn’t let them watch without editing out the language and violence. Please let me know what I can do to help you win your case against Hollywood filth!
